Amanda had always struggled with her body image since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 12. FWM: Share your struggle with body image.
Struggling with Hypothyroidism from the age of 12, my body was becoming a mystery to me. As I watched friends around me wear anything and eat what they wanted without any worry about weight gain or changes in their physical appearance, my reality – marked by slow metabolism and depression as well as an ongoing battle against fluctuating self-image – set it apart. This feeling only intensified when breasts that were larger than those seen on anyone else in the family emerged; suddenly embracing them felt almost impossible due to lack of education surrounding even something so fundamental such as bra sizing. Time and time again opting for style over comfort left both health and confidence sacrificed, yet misery still lingered at all times making awkwardness inevitable no matter how hard I tried not to feel it.
FWM: La Plantureuse provides young women with comfortable lingerie. Tell us about your growing brand.
I had two babies and realized that my back pain was too much to bear. So, with the help of my husband, we engineered La Plantureuse – a revolutionary bra designed specifically for full-bust women which helps alleviate shoulder, neck and back pains. Thousands have tried it since then and felt nothing but comfort; so comfortable in fact that many reported feeling sexy due to an improved level of confidence! Comfort really does boost our self esteem!
FWM: Take us through your collection.
My collection at the moment is one product but what is special about this is: You have the ability to mix and match your sizes. We offer band sizes 32-60 and cup sizes DD-M. With the mix and match, a full bust woman who wears a size 32K is able to purchase that exact size. No need to choose a sister size or stray away from the brand because the size doesn’t exist. The collection is made by a full bust woman for full bust women.

The “Try Before You Buy” Program allows you to try the product out for 30 days. Cut the tags off, wear the product during your daily routines, wash it, and just fall in love. The only thing collected up front is shipping. After the 30 days, if you keep the product then you are charged the retail price; but if you don’t love it then we will return the product for free.
