FWM: Tell us about the film, “All You Can Eat.”

The romantic comedy, All You Can Eat,” is Written/Directed by Rob Margolies, who has several films on Netflix starring Hillary Duff, Josh Gad, and many other well-known Actors. Rob is winning awards for his current film, “YES” and Immortal that is on the current Festival circuit. Again, Rob and I continue to work together as a film family before All You Can Eat. My role in the film was as an OA meeting counselor in support of the trials and tribulations that people go through with their weight issues. As you might have imagined the film is about society and how it looks at overweight people or those different than themselves. Will be distributed worldwide by Summer 2020. The film itself is a romantic comedy with a male protagonist, rarely seen in films. Randy Quaid in his first role in a decade, Cathy Najimy, Jason Mewes and other well-known actors are featured in it.

FWM: Lola Does Manhattan is a Dramedy that you wrote for television. Tell us about it.

Lola Does Manhattan was created as a love letter for the millions of people who feel stuck in their life because they ignore their intuition. The concept came from my desire to help people understand the practical problems that women have and the importance of changing their life because of their own spiritual needs. It is a project that I have been working on for 4 years, happily the subject matter never grows old-no pun intended. The show is funny, fresh and carries a subtle yet serious message. It is important for my audience as well as myself to expand, stretch and grow in this journey we call life

When a worldly, yet naive, fun-loving empty nester (50’s) leaves her marriage and moves to Manhattan, she unwittingly begins the most important journey of her life- finding herself- and meeting her inner self in human form” The adventures she/they go on involves her family, new friends, and of course NYC.”

It is particularly empowering/relevant for baby boomers who represent 40% of the country and 80% of all expendable income. It seems that this market has been largely ignored in entertainment and will soon explode into the marketplace. I am looking for experienced collaborators to join me in this project- showrunners who want to help me pitch and believe in this market’s strength and concept.” A revolution is coming in the Arts that will center more around them and their wisdom. You are never too old…

FWM: What are you most proud of?

That I have brought up amazing, successful children, have a long marriage and want to raise awareness for those in need that do not have a voice in the world.

The subjects I am most interested in are: Religious intolerance, Human Trafficking, Women’s rights all over the world in all its offshoots, drugs and destruction in our society. Also, Depression, “White privilege”, education, metaphysics ie meditation in schools, rising above one’s circumstances.

I’m very interested in the baby boomer generation and its growth. Baby boomers are 40% of the world and in this country have 80% of all expendable income, yet no one is creating solely for them. A revolution is coming in the Arts that will center more around them and their wisdom. You are never too old…

FWM: What roles are you seeking in 2020?

Characters that triumph over adversity. Characters that have lived a different life from mine. I love roles that are challenging to play. I love to play against type- While my look is upscale and I love the roles I get to play in this field, I love to play downtrodden characters as well. Prostitutes, drug addicts, and alcoholics. When a character is not what they originally seem to be and surprise you, that is something I love. An arc where the character changes and grows through adversity may be my favorite role to chew on.

As a Producer, I choose stories that are enlightening as well as entertaining. Triumph over adversity is my favorite subject area. As an Actor, I try to highlight the humanity in my characters so audiences will recognize and understand themselves better.

“Creating original, smart heartfelt content to lift people’s spirits, give them hope and understanding about what our purpose is in this life and how we can support and help those lost in their path, to regain strength and understanding and then pass it forward.”

FWM: Tell us about the film, “All Mobbed Up” and working with John Gallagher.

“Revenge is a real drag unless you are All Mobbed Up….” A Mob comedy directed by 7 Lifetime achievement award winner, director /writer/producer John Gallagher will begin principal photography in the spring of 2020. Looking forward to playing a supporting role in this feature.

John Gallagher is a New York City-based Filmmaker, a fixture on the New York scene for nearly 30 years as a director, writer, producer, author, historian, and educator, with a wide range of international filmmaking resources and relationships, Eight features and eighteen shorts have been produced under his 305 Media Group banner, all playing international film festivals, many directed by his young proteges.

FWM: How long have you been in the entertainment business? What changes have you seen?

I have been in the entertainment business for 30 years. I have seen many changes. Aside from the digitalization of the industry.

Positive Changes during that time for women have included; Some available daycare facilities for industry members children. More roles for women over 40. More female actors becoming hyphenates-producers and directors. Beyond that very little has been done to create gender equality in our industry. Progress is very slow.

FWM: Share your experience with the film, “Subject A Male.”

I have wanted to work with director/producer/actor Stefano Da Fre’ for the last 4 years. He and Laura Pellegrini create films dealing with important subjects-in the most beautiful way. They have won many film Festivals all over the world. Their films encompass a wide variety of subjects. Stefano and Laura are co-directing (with Stefano starring as Daniel.) I play his mother Ruth Wyman. The film is a psychological drama feature.

Stefano Da Fre and Laura Pellegrini- they have had many Award-Winning Films Internationally and in Cannes and together. Their company Rosso Films International created “The Girl Who Could Not Speak” a documentary about female abuse that was featured on Meet The Press last year.

FWM: What should we know about your exciting projects coming up?

The Flight of the Kiwi is about a mother/adult daughter relationship. Interesting in that much of what is not said aloud is the fabric of the film. Most of it is in the behavior of the characters. Filmmaker Sarah Nocquet has written a beautifully crafted piece that all audiences can relate to.

Confidant by Writer/director/producer Debra Markowitz ; A mother confronts her son, a down-on-his-luck stunt man with a broken marriage, to help him move forward with his life. It will be released into the Film Festival Circuit.

Lola Does Manhattan will be leashed onto the world as soon as she finds a home on network and or streaming channels.

The Other Wall is a new short film in which I play an immigration lawyer is going into festivals; After receiving the results of her visa application, a young Portuguese woman must face the challenges of leaving her life behind. The film stars Rita Sanchez who just won The Voice in Portugal.

FWM: Do you have any additional thoughts?

People’s way of thinking, nature, and spiritualism, triumph over adversity. Mostly other human beings and their perceived lack of understanding of how life works. What you think you attract. Anger breeds anger. Life can be unfair. Life can be whatever you want it to be.

Creating original, smart heartfelt content to lift people’s spirits, give them hope and understanding about what our purpose is in this life and how we can support and help those lost in their path, to regain strength and understanding and then pass it forward.

I am very interested in the baby boomer generation and its growth. Baby boomers are 40% of the world and in this country have 80% of all expendable income, yet no one is creating solely for them.
