Anne DeSantis and Bill Snyder are bringing inspiration and hope to the world. There growing podcast discusses how faith can sustain our lives through all of life’s circumstances.
Share your background.
I am the Director for a Catholic foundation which helps families in crisis called the St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation for Freedom, Family, and Faith. In addition to my work with this foundation, I work as a hobby as a 55+ model/actress in the Greater Philadelphia area. I am a wife and a mom. I have been married to my husband Angelo for almost 31 years! I have two grown daughters Alaine and Shawn ages 23 and 21.
At age 34, I was diagnosed with a rare heart disorder but thankfully recovered. That time period of my life shaped nearly 20 years of my life as I realized what is important in life, namely love, family, and faith. I sacrificed for my family by not working outside the home for 20 years and home-schooled my children from 2001 to 2017. My faith is the most important aspect of who I am, and I celebrate faith as a Catholic. I try to bring all that I do and what I believe to help to make the world a better place. Role models with good life examples such as Mother Teresa or St. Teresa of Calcutta, help to shape my decisions both in work and more importantly in life. She is just one example of a great Catholic role model for the world to help make outreach to those in need and to the suffering. God had other plans for me that I never would have imagined. In 2014, I became involved in modeling and acting at the age of 49. I came upon an opportunity to have my TV show called The Positive Side on RVNTV. In addition to working as a Director for a non-profit, I began working with RVNTV showcasing all the great work others are doing on this interview-based program.
My newest opportunity is a brand-new podcast called Sewing Hope with Co-Host and friend Bill Snyder.
You and Bill Snyder are hosts of the live-streamed podcast, “Sewing Hope.” What led you to this project?
Bill Snyder is the Founder of Patchwork Heart Ministries. Bill interviewed me on his podcast a couple months back in late 2019. After we met, we began to talk about the idea of doing our own podcast together as co-hosts. The name of the program is Sewing Hope and the reason it is spelled s-e-w-i-n-g is Bill himself has had open heart surgery and we have something in common that we had both suffered heart conditions whether past or present.
As I mentioned, I suffered a heart condition in my earlier life, and Bill shared with me that he has had open heart surgery…thus Sewing Hope has a reference to heart surgery as Bill has undergone it. God definitely brought us together for this endeavor.
How did you and Bill join forces?
I must thank a friend Kendra Von Esh as she introduced me to Bill. Kendra has an amazing faith story and she is doing wonderful work through her writing and social media presence as well as her speaking.
Tell us about the title, “Sewing Hope?”
The title “Sewing Hope” indicates that the show itself is all about the virtue of HOPE. Bill and I are both people of faith. We are Catholic and love to discuss how faith can sustain our lives through all of life’s circumstances.
Share some of the topics discussed on your show.
This is a brand-new podcast. We are starting out with basic talks about faith two times a week for one hour on Podbean and YouTube LIVE. Podbean is an app that you can download on your computer or on your phone.
What will people enjoy most about the show?
What people enjoy most are the wonderful faith-related topics Bill an I discuss. Some examples of recent topics: forgiveness, bullying, an morality in the workplace are a few. People seem to like the camaraderie between Bill and I as people of faith discussing issues that affect all of us.
Who is your target audience?
Our target audience is just about anyone! Although we ourselves are Catholics, we invite anyone who would like to talk about important issues of life that help us to recognize God at work in our everyday lives.
You are looking for sponsors. Tell us why people should join you?
We are looking for sponsors to help support our mission. businesses, non-profits, artists, actors, and people who are basically doing great work are all invited to become sponsors on this program. We invite you to reach out to us so we can give you more information about becoming a sponsor for this program and we can develop 30-second commercials which will be aired during the programs. If you are interested please email us at: SewingHope@Patchworkheart.org
What excites you about “Sewing Hope?”
What excites me most is doing God’s will. Life is short. We just don’t know how long our lives will be. It’s all about being a good person, loving God, and loving others. That is really what this show is all about. Helping people to take a look at themselves and understand that they are infinitely loved by God and God has a plan for their lives is what excites me the most. Being able to help people to understand this fact and to be a support system for them as life can be difficult for all of us is a blessing. “Sewing Hope Podcast” is a place that can be viewed a community. We really care about those who want to be a part of our mission and listen to this podcast a that is aired twice week.
Tell us about the Patchwork Heart Ministry. How are they changing lives?
