Debbie Allen is considered one of the top women marketers and growth experts in the country, due to her extensive background in the retail industry. She has been a speaker for over 25 years and has personally mentored hundreds of clients helping them grow their businesses from start-up to turn-around for 25 years.
Her aspiration for entrepreneurship began at 19-years old. She told her father that she wanted to do more than just collect a paycheck. She wanted to own a part of a business, so she could feel the excitement and passion of growing it. She bought into her family’s car rental business in N.W. Indiana. They started with 5 rental cars then the business grew to 200 rental vehicles. The family also had built numerous other businesses including two mini-storage facilities (the first in the area). By her late 20s, they sold the mini-storage company to well-known,” Public Storage.” It was their first million-dollar sale.
Debbie left the family business at age 30 and started a new career in women’s retail apparel stores. She purchased a business that had not made money for six years and she had no experience women’s retail, however, she completely turned around the business from six figures to a multi-million dollar business within two years. She then built and sold numerous retail stores before starting her speaking career 25 years ago.
She credits part of her success to mentorship. She never attended a day of college and had learned the business from the ‘School of Hard Knocks’ finding mentors to guide her on any path she wanted to take. She had found a group of 15 mentors in a mastermind group that took her under their wings and allowed her to fly taking her business to new growth and income fast. After selling her retail stores she wanted to teach others to be successful, so she started professional speaking and business consulting. This didn’t come without challenges. It was during the financial crash of 2008. She had to take her business internationally to survive and thrive. She spoke in 28 countries in 4 years before bringing her business back into the states and reinventing her business model.
Debbie Allen has been a professional business speaker and mentor for 25 years. She has authored 9 books. Her newest book ‘Success is Easy’ was written to inspire a broader audience and to teach them that success really can be easier than most people believe. Her goal is to inspire women business owners and entrepreneurs to “Go for it! become bolder and know that their dreams of success are not so far off. She is often a motivational keynote speaker for large groups where she inspires an audience to think and act differently, to push the limit with their beliefs and get them motivated to take bigger bolder actions. She is a keynote speaker for the annual Merle Norman Cosmetics Conference.
She is the Bestselling Author of Confessions of Shameless Self Promoters, Skyrocketing Sales, The Highly Paid Expert, and Success Is Easy. Her newest book Success Is Easy is a legacy book that speaks to more of the general market. If someone is just starting in business or wants to grow a business they want to read that book. Her book The Highly Paid Expert is for someone who has expertise in a niche market and they want to build an expert business model teaching others the expertise they know.
She believes it is easier to be successful than to fail if you stick with your vision and goals. “It first starts with a never give up attitude and an unstoppable belief in yourself. With each small success comes more confidence which allows you to reach for bigger goals and more success. And of course, you need to learn good business skills along the way. As an entrepreneur having good common business sense and a clear focus has helped me become successful at anything I’ve set my mind to.”
She plans to launch “Success Is Easy” online training in early 2020. It will be an extension of the book and she will also launch a mastermind to take people to a deep-dive level of the book’s training.
