FWM: Who is Ingrid and what is your superpower?
Who am I? I would like to say that I am Wonder Woman but that may be too bold. My alternate response is that I wear a lot of hats. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a business leader, a certified facilitator, and a certified human resource professional.
My friends say I have an infectious energy. I enjoy traveling, seeing new places, venturing on road trips and spending time at the beach. I am an avid runner. Most importantly, I love to laugh!
My superpower is “Courage”. I would not be where I am today, both personally and professionally, if I did not push myself beyond what seemed to be impossible. I learned early on in life that while there are no guarantees, one thing is certain. If you don’t at least try, you most definitely will not succeed. There is a quote by Theodore Roosevelt called “The Man in the Arena”, that I quite like, and have taken to heart. Thus, I try not to let fear get in the way of a new experience or adventure.
FWM: What has been the greatest challenge in your industry and how have you overcome it?
In my profession, it is extremely important to stay abreast of what is constantly changing in the future of work across different industries. As much as we try to anticipate, a healthy respect for the unexpected, and the ability to react appropriately, is a necessary skill. As a Talent Management Professional, I need to be aware of the evolving knowledge, skills and abilities that are required to be successful.
As a daily ritual, I wake up early and mentally prepare for my day. I focus on a learning mindset and I articulate gratitude for the blessings and positive elements in my life. I love to read and understand others’ perspectives, thus bringing forth competitive intelligence and best practices to my work. I continuously leverage my professional relationships to gain new learning and stay well-informed of current industry challenges.
FWM: You’re a serious LEADER! Tell us, what are you working on and what’s next for you?
I am in the business of helping people. I love to get to know them, and hear their stories. Everyone has a story. I take pride in coaching and developing others to be their best selves.
What’s next for me? Professionally, I will continue on my talent management journey in my Human Resources profession.
Personally, I am concentrating on staying strong, healthy, and focused. I am currently training to run my first marathon later this year. Wish me luck!
