Malva Gasowski, Online Training Academy, an innovative form of training

Malva is an international business trainer, executive coach and speaker for corporate soft HR skills, and helps people achieve success in top international corporations. Malva has created the Online Training Academy, an innovative form of training for future online trainers. Besides her corporate focus, she is also a parenting coach and couples counsellor who works with couples and parents to help them implements the positive parenting approach and build closeness within the family. She spoke with Formidable Woman Magazine about the launch of The International Parenting Summit.

FWM: Share your background as an International Business Trainer. 

I have been a business trainer for over 20 years working intentionally with top corporations. I have been hired as a trainer to work with top managers and executives from Canada, USA, UK, Europe, Emirates, Australia, and Japan to name a few. 

I have conducted training sessions or academies in the field of Customer Service, Negotiation, Communication and Collaboration in a Project (PMI methodology), Assertiveness, Stress Management, Team building, Team management, Crafting cooperation and most recently serving Trainers in international corporations acquiring knowledge and techniques for using online pedagogy in creating and conducting online training sessions and workshops.

FWM: You have helped people achieve success in top international corporations. Share a few of your success stories. 

I have had amazing feedback from people taking part in my training sessions, calling them life-changing, the best investment of time and money they had made in their life. We go really deep to see how what we do during the ongoing training and consultation can be implemented at work and in their personal life to improve their skills and enrich their life. 

FWM: What are your strengths as a business trainer and executive coach? 

I have a strong skill in making the difficult simple while building strong relationships. As a trainer it is essential to be able to take the merit that scientist leave us with and “translate” it into actionable steps to implement at work to see visible changes. 

I make sure that my trainees are heard and leave the sessions stronger and happier with the new skills used. 

FWM: Tell us about the Online Training Academy. 

During the Online Training Academy for Course Creators, l guide people through the pedagogical and technological aspects, which are important in the process, of creating remote training courses and workshops. Regardless of the technical skills and experience in conducting training and workshop sessions, I equip future online trainers with a set of skills enabling them to use these skills immediately in their work remotely and in-house. I show them the step by step, what elements the entire process of preparing and conducting online training consists of. The entire course can be an intensive 6-week course with a minimum of 7hours a week devoted to both synchronous and asynchronous learning and development. The course can be stretched to a 12-week program where the intensity is lower allowing to fit it into their professional life schedule.

During the academy, I offer webinars, workshops, articles, panels, assignments, individual consultations, exercises, and self-paced education.

The 6 phrases consist of:

1. The essence of distance learning.

This module will allow you to understand what is included in the term “remote learning”. I will show you what the full spectrum of remote education looks like and define your development expectations in this area. We will prove why online training is an important part of the didactic process and what are the challenges and opportunities associated with it. You will learn to look at technology in terms of the benefits it brings in the educational process.

2. Online learning planning

In this stage, you will learn to plan your training from the perspective of the work methodology, helping you to translate in-house training programs into online sessions. We will look at the essence of thoughtful planning as the most important aspect of distance learning. You will learn why the success of online training strictly depends on the preparation process. The educational culmination of the second module will be the acquisition of the ability to plan online training together with setting the educational goals of the course.

3. Technology and its application.

In this module, you will learn about the correct application of specific technological solutions, adapted to the didactic assumptions. Proper selection and use of tools determine the effect of education. Therefore, you will gain knowledge that will enable you to choose the tools adequately to the needs and possibilities of the participants, maintaining a balance in remote learning. We will therefore look at technology as a collection of teaching aids.

4. Assessment of learning outcomes.

The fourth module will be devoted to the measurement of learning outcomes. We will analyze the benefits of the evaluation process. You will learn to evaluate the effectiveness of selected training methods. We will also discuss the most common mistakes and their consequences. After completing the module, you will be able to plan, prepare, and conduct the process of assessing the effects of your work.

5. Motivation to learn.

This phase will focus on motivating the training participants to actively participate in the learning process. We will advise you on what options you have to encourage participants to be involved throughout the course. You will learn about the role of the curriculum, the chosen technology, and training time management in creating enthusiasm for learning.

6. Educational strategy evaluation.

We will devote the last module of the Academy to learning how to evaluate the educational strategy. You will learn the four pillars of evaluating your training programs. The purpose of this process is to improve your development methods and programs. Self-reflection, peer evaluation, feedback from participants, and methodological evaluation are ways to be a better educator. Furthermore, the Online Training Academy for Course Creators is completed after you pass your practical online exam as an online trainer.

FWM: The International Parenting Summit; Be the positive change in your family touches on parenting approaches. What can we expect for your upcoming summit? 

This is an 8-series summit. The summit goes live on the second weekend of every month starting March 2021.

The summit unites 15 experts internationally to share their experience on specific topics

Each month is dedicated to a different topics discussed form various perspectives to give parents and caregivers a 360-degree view of the elements regarding the Topic of the month.
