“The Model Surgeon”, Dr. Sheila Nazarian is changing lives, one beautiful person at a time. In the Netflix Series, Skin Decision: Before and After, she and her assistant, Nurse Jamie use both surgical and non-surgical techniques to help men and women regain their confidence and present the best versions of themselves. Dr. Nazarian is a powerful force to be reckoned with in the cosmetic surgery industry. She believes that we are as beautiful as we see ourselves to be and it is her goal to help us reveal that person to the world.
FWM: Dr. Nazarian, thank you for making time for this interview. Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Dr. SN: Hello Everyone! I am Dr. Sheila Nazarian, a mom, wife, entrepreneur, fashionista, plastic surgeon, and overall go-getter from Los Angeles.
FWM: You’ve earned the moniker, “The Model Surgeon.” How has that affected your career and clientele?
Dr. SN: I always believe that you will receive what you put out. My business and brand is built on natural results and a clientele who appreciates that. As the model surgeon, I put out classy and believable plastic surgery results and in turn, attract an intelligent and “not crazy” clientele who I actually like to hang out with and treat in my office.
FWM: I enjoyed your Netflix series, “Skin Decision: Before and After.” What part did you and Nurse Jamie play in bringing it to life? Do you feel that your client’s lives were greatly changed?
Dr. SN: Nurse Jamie and I share an aesthetic philosophy and enjoy helping people regain their confidence. We felt that the portrayal of the aesthetic industry on television was one of vanity and more like a circus show. It is, in reality, far from that. Our patients are normal people (and celebs) who are doing these procedures for personal reasons and to just feel and look their best. The show gives permission to men and women to take the leap.
FWM: As a female surgeon in the field of plastic surgery, how do you feel the industry relates to women doctors?
Dr. SN: There is very little female surgeon representation on TV. That had to change. We need our daughters to see strong, educated women on television and social media to look up to. I am happy to represent for my specialty and serve as a role model to other doctors and young men and women internationally.
FWM: How do you feel you have impacted women and your community?
Dr. SN: I don’t think I have impacted just women. I get messages daily from men and women internationally on my Instagram saying how I have impacted their lives by giving them inspiration.
FWM: When it comes to body issues, what is the one piece of advice you’d like to share?
Dr. SN: We all have something we don’t like and can’t work off. If it is something you think about weekly, and it is safe for you to take care of it, don’t hesitate. Life is short.
FWM: How can our readers connect with you outside of this interview?
Dr. SN: I am most active on Instagram!
