FWM: Do you believe in second chances?
I definitely believe in second chances as I am the survivor of several life-threatening automobile accidents and now use my second chances and total existence to fulfill God’s plan for my life to free women, to liberate women, to allow them to create a more equitable life – work-family-community balance. The shift is miraculous as I am able to use my global influence and ecosystem of a conglomerate of women leaders and service providers to transform lives and change the world.
FWM: How are you helping women by using your global influence and ecosystem?
We start with building up their confidence and empowering them to live their best life, to take that leap of faith, to make themselves a priority. Then from there we can figure it out together where they want to go and do in this world. Particularly women of color that are often overlooked, not seen and not heard. We talk about leaping in versus leaning in. With the 1 billion Successful Women Entrepreneurs Worldwide (1BSWEW) initiative we are creating our own ecosystem. This initiative is lead by black women of color that are reaching out to the richest and most powerful women in the world to sponsor and endorse this initiative: Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, VP Kamala Harris, Melinda French Gates, Mackenzie Scott, Meghan Markle, Melody Hobson, Judge Judy, Suze Orman, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Gayle King, Rosalind Brewer, and Sara Blakely amongst others. Their money and voice will be used to lift this initiative. Once the women become aware of our initiative to create 1billion women with EIN numbers, we will be using the Mathews Business Network of 2500 Black and Brown CEO’s to become service providers for these women. We have an accelerated approach in which they can be in business immediately, within 24 hours.
FWM: Tell us about Women of Power and Transformation (WOPAT).
Our mission is to build up our community of women by empowering them in a safe and healthy environment to rise up as leaders, to connect globally, and support one another mentally, spiritually, and economically for the greater good. We are a survival organization for workaholic women, especially moms that are over-worked, over-stressed, and over-taxed with responsibilities. We exist to transform lives.
Our vision is to create synergy amongst women as a call to action to uplift, empower, connect and mobilize communities towards a more equitable financial solution of a shared outcome of survival both locally and across the globe. To raise the value of women from $1.00 per day with a net worth of $5.00.
What we are focusing on now is to raise the value of women through our ecosystem consisting of a conglomerate of influencers and service providers worldwide. WOPAT leading from the future, creating a mind shift in humanity by undertaking the largest challenge ever to create “1 Billion Successful Women Entrepreneurs using our ecosystem that cannot be stopped. When this happens we all WIN. Happening Now. Join the 1 Billion Women Entrepreneurs Movement Worldwide!
WOPAT has an honorees and Advisory Board and each year WOPAT hosts a Game Changers Women of Power and Men Valor fundraising event to recognize transformational leaders and raise funds for programs and services.
FWM: Why is your initiative to create “1 Billion Successful Women Entrepreneurs Worldwide” so important to you?
I am really trying to create more opportunity for women globally as well as shift the narrative that women actually CAN become entrepreneurs and successful to contribute to their households. Teaching women to fish is one way, however having these women own the fish and selling it will create generational wealth for their families. Most women are single parents and every day they have to figure out a way to provide for their children. Women represent 60% of the people on this planet however they represent 90% of the poorest population in this world. For those countries that don’t allow women to participate in the workforce or start a business, their economies are suffering significantly. This campaign is to create more awareness around DEI for women and girls in order to raise the value of women globally. This initiative will create the most massive shift in human mankind by lifting women from poverty, to profitable to prosperous!
FWM: During the pandemic you made over 100 videos and 200 Zooms to connect women and give them a voice. Tell us about this experience.
I felt that God had prepared me for the moment, for this pandemic. The pandemic put women on the front lines. By sending us all home from work, our businesses, and schools, I knew that women would be pivotal to the survival rate of this pandemic for our families. I rose to the occasion and made basic 15-minute videos daily asking them to take time out for self and survival. We started with breathing exercises, meditation and then I gave them a pandemic update and helpful tools and hacks for pandemic survival. How to regulate our households by being a thermostat versus a thermometer. Videos on restructuring our households to be learning friendly. How to wash off and separate your groceries. Making your own PPE and hand sanitizer. How to be resourceful and divide food servings for families to cut down on grocery bills.
FWM: What is needed to make your vision of “1 Billion Successful Women Entrepreneurs Worldwide” a reality?
We are leaning on support from the media, sponsorships from corporations, endorsements from political & celebrity leaders of the powerful and elite population, and like-minded individuals to push our movement. We have the strategy and wherewithal, what we are lacking is money. We need financial sponsors to make this a reality. This is a global project and it takes money for marketing, advertising, pr, research, AI, IT, and staffing. Once we get the 10 million needed for startup funding we will begin to roll out our programs to obtain 1 billion EIN’s for women.
FWM: How can people on a global scale get involved to be part of such an important initiative?
What is needed is involvement. There are many ways that people can get involved on a global level. We have pop up Zoom meetings weekly to engage our international and US audience. One way is to help create awareness about this initiative, 2) become a global ambassador and sign up as a volunteer, 3) Donate to help lift 1 billion women from poverty to profitable to prosperous.
FWM: Tell us about your annual Game-Changers Award ceremony.
Prior to the pandemic we honor women of Power and Men of Valor that were at the highest level of their industries that had done phenomenal things to change their community and the world. The award is about transformational leadership. One of our first award recipients was Katherine Johnson, Hidden Figures, mathematician and human computer. People that at the time they did not know that they would be impacting the world, they were just doing their job to make a difference. Each recipient had to appear in person to obtain their award so that the common person could see that they were just ordinary people like them, working each day, putting one foot in front of the other and one day…they were bigger than life…extraordinary!
FWM: What has been the greatest lesson that you have learned?
That it’s not about me. That I am just the conduit or the messenger on assignment from God. And that although I ran from God and my assignment for many years, He does not make mistakes and, essentially you cannot run from God.
