FWM: Share your upbringing.
My childhood consisted of fun and daring things. I grew up hanging out with some very cool characters, mostly because my stepfather is a stunt man and has been all my life. We hung out with stunt people, circus performers and actors. Picnics consisted of flying on a full-size trapeze in the backyard, watching friends being set on fire and listening in as they talked about current movie gigs or special projects.
FWM: You have worked as a consultant. Tell us about your experience. What did you enjoy the most?
I have worked with some wonderful national employers, providing consulting work in the areas of operational management, business development, talent acquisition, and human resource management. My recent projects include working with disabled veterans to help them transition into the civilian marketplace and help them to obtain long term careers that won’t affect their disabilities. In the last year alone, we have placed over 160 veterans in long term careers and created partnerships with Fortune 500 companies that want to hire veterans! It’s great to see companies stepping up to the plate to ensure they have the resources and accommodations to do so.
“I’m excited about my consulting partnership with Elysium Talent, they have a knack for reading people and matching them with the best projects for their long term success; they are a “no-nonsense” talent agency that truly cares about its clients and that’s a company I want to work with!”
My current partnership, which I am excited to be working with is the Elysium Talent Management Group. We are working hard at putting Artists to work in their trade. We want to bring a different kind of atmosphere in the industry and build a team that works harder for their clients than anywhere else they might go.
In my 18 years of organizational and professional development, I have placed hundreds of individuals in partnerships for long term success and helped many others reach their professional and financial goals. I’m excited about my consulting partnership with Elysium Talent, they have a knack for reading people and matching them with the best projects for their long term success; they are a “no-nonsense” talent agency that truly cares about its clients and that’s a company I want to work with!
FWM: How important is giving back to you?
It’s the most important thing we can do in this world, giving back not just money but love, friendship, and a helping hand… the world needs more of that. I have several charities that are near and dear to me, Alex’s Lemonade Stand is one of them, they help to bring awareness to childhood cancer which continues to threaten so many lives and they have done a great job with the project.
FWM: What is your greatest strength?
I would have to say my greatest strength is my ability to find solutions for issues that others don’t see or think of. I believe that’s what has helped me the most in my career thus far. I also can jump in and adapt to almost any situation, I’ve found that to be a really useful trait in the world of business because if you’re not changing, you’re not growing.
FWM: You are in partnership with Elysium Talent Management Group. How has your career in Human Resources an asset for Elysium?
My background in Organizational Management and Human Resources will be a great skill set that can be utilized in how the company handles talent and to ensure we are running not only an ethical agency but a smooth and organized operation as well.
FWM: What is your role at Elysium Talent. What is unique about the agency?
I will be assisting in some internal organizational changes as well as working with the talent directly to pair them with special projects. We will offer sound advice for how to keep it all together during the grind, we will prepare them for what to expect and ensure they are confident going into any job we send them on. We promise that if we choose to represent them, we will put 110% in helping them grow in their careers.
Something unique to Elysium Talent is our commitment to give back with each transaction; we will be giving back a percentage of every project to a cause of the talent’s choice, from our end. We will also give them the option to add more from their end, but this is something we have always wanted to do. It gives us a way to show our clients that we care about the things they care about. I will be working with Mindy Meriweather Morton. She brings 19 years of expertise in publicity and management to Elysium Talent.
FWM: What are your goals?
Right now, I am working hard on employer partnerships not only with Elysium but for other projects as well. The goal is to have at least 200 confirmed career partnerships by the end of the year. Whether it be finding talent the perfect project or finding a veteran a lifetime career, if we can reach at least 200 paired partnerships, then we know we are doing our part to keep America at work and helping to change people’s lives for the better.
FWM: Why are you a Formidable Woman?
It’s hard to pat yourself on the back, but what a mentor once said to me was that I never give up… on anything. I work hard to accomplish whatever I set my mind to whether in school, business or life; if I take on a project you can be sure the job is getting done. I am a wife and a mother of two, a boy (7) and a girl (9) who keep me on my toes. I work full-time, raise my children and continue to learn a little more every day about what it takes to be a Formidable Woman. I only hope that I can pass on the things I have learned along the way like compassion, tenacity and a killer work ethic to my children so they will be successful and be able to handle whatever our world throws at them.
FWM: What would people be surprised to know about you?
I have a LOT of animals! Fifteen to be exact, and I don’t live on a farm! Currently, we have 2 horses, 5 dogs (Cane Corso, Presa Canario, Pit Bull, Miniature poodle, and Pomeranian) We pretty much rescue anything we find on the side of the
